Bet you will be damn satisfied with the pictures + posts I have for you guys for the whole month! ^^
Planned to bake a cake for baby, + add in a few stuffs that he might need for his present.
Went my aunt's house with my cousin to bake the cake tgt, cause I wasn't really good, and I don't have an oven at home.
Was so touched okay. I only informed one of my aunt, cousin and mom about this, and 3 of my aunts came down, tgt with 2 of my cousins. LOVE YOU ALL :)
This is the 'testing' version of the cakes. The colour wasn't as expected..
Some of the cartoons we made out of the 'marshmallow fondant'!
The cake broke while rising, thus we decided to sample it! It turned out to be just nice, and damn yummy!
The box that cousin bought, for like $3- $4. Expensive right? You will see why it is so later. :)
Another round of baking, after adjusting the colouring usage in the making.
Placing it in the oven....
Mixture of flour and etc for the cake.
9 bottles of colouring used.
Mixing the coloring tgt with the mixture done previously.
Layer number 1
Layer number 2
While letting the cake to rise... We played with the dog! I have no idea what breed it is, but its name is 'Baby'. Damn cute! ^^
Colour like too dark...
My mom's damn nice okay. She told me to get my camera ready, while she asked Baby to stand. And taddda! The best of four pics taken.
Who doesn't want a dog like that?
Side tracking a bit.. My cousin, yes the same cousin that helped me out with the cake making, has a dog at home too! Her dog, I shall say, is even cuter! She will greet you with her 'gongxi gongxi' whenever you ask her too! I don't have a picture of her doing that with me now, but let's wait till CNY. She will definitely do that. Hehe. Superdog.
All the cakes together- failed and passable ones.
Mixing colouring to the fondant.
While letting the fondant solidify in the fridge, we decide to make the filling for the cakes. Our hands were too oily in the making, and thus no photos for that.
The photo above is after choosing + stacking all the 5 layers of the cakes tgt. Okay okay, I know a rainbow cake should have 7 layers. At first, we wanted to make a 6 layers one(thinking that indigo and violet are not of much a contrast), but the box my cousin bought is too small in height for the cake already! And thus, only 5 layers.
And tadda! Fully covered.
The ribbon made by using the fondant. Cousin actually intended to use it on the cake, but seems like it's too small + out of shape. So we threw it, after deciding not to use.
After 2 layers of different coloured fondant, one round of icing at the bottom + mickey mouse shaped fondant.
See the mess we made during the whole process!
And after cutting the alphabets for deco.
TADDA! The finishing product.
After I left, cousin used the remaining portions to make another cake. She decorated it with her fave cartoon- Hello Kitty!
The cake was supposed to look like this when we cut it up. BUT.......
It became like that! Well. Still looks nice okay! Just not that nice as expected. But am satisfied already!
Maybe the one I gave baby will look better. Hehe, you also want to know how it looks like right? So why not, stay tuned to my blog, and look forward to my next post, to see baby's reaction after seeing the cake? :)

PS: Recipes can be easily found via google. I complied a few of the recipes, and cousin reduced the sugar to give way to the Marshmallow fondant (Note the keyword, marshmallow- is linked to my next advertorial post!!)
